During our questionnaire we tried to get a fair sample of people to answer about generic conventions and common aspects they found in action movies. We asked 10 people in a age bracket of 12-50 5 questions to help us get a better understanding of what the general public, friends and family think about action movies.
1. Gender?
For the questionnaire we made sure to try and get a even sample so we asked 5 males and 5 females to answer the questions above. This is to make sure we were not bias and we had a fair representation of how people persevere action films. This will influence our films since we can see the answers were from a sample of both males and females therefore we can get a better idea of what people expect from a action movie.
2. What do you expect to see in a Action Movie?
Above in the pie chart is the results we got from our sample. This shows us what people typically expect and the generic conventions of action movies. 3 people answered fight scenes, 3 people answered explosions and 4 people answered gun fights. From the results we can see that we need to incorporate one of the 3 decisions people choose since these are the aspects people expect to see in a action movie. This will influence our film since we will need to include at least one of the 3 aspects that have been answered in this question to make sure we include generic conventions in the film.
3. What is the most recent action film you have seen?
For this question we selected movies that had came out recently and asked people if they had seen them. 2 people answered Guardians of the Galaxy, 2 people answered Captain America 2, 3 people answered Xmen and 3 people answered Taken 3. From these we can see that people went for movies with big name actors and that have been included in a series of films. This shows that the action genre is still very popular. This will influence our film since we will watch some of these to see what aspects we can take and use when making our own movie.
4.Who is your favourite actor/actress you expect to see in a action movie?
In this question we asked people who their favourite actors/actresses were in action movies. 4 people answered Bruce Willis, 3 people answered Liam Neeson, 2 people answered Matt Damon and 1 person answered Arnold Schwarzenegger. From the results we can see that "Bruce Willis" is the most popular actor. This means that we have to take aspects from films that Bruce Willis has been in so that we can research more into action movies in general. These 4 actors are very popular in the action movie genre and therefore we will need to watch some of these actors and see what we can take and put into our own movie.
5. Favourite action movie?
For this question we asked for peoples favourite action movies. 1 person answered Taken 3, 1 person answered Kill Bill, 1 person answered Guardians of the Galaxy, 3 people answered Alien and 4 people answered Dark Knight. In order to get the genre of our movie right we need to watch some of these movies and take aspects or generic conventions from these movies. The movies that people answered with are prime examples of actions movies. In order to convey the idea that the genre of our film is action we will need to use aspects from these movies.
